Annika Scott is now off to PNG Capital for the FIBA U17 Women’s Oceania Championship.

Posted on 30 September 2023

As reported previously, Annika Scott was originally named as a reserve for the New Zealand Junior Ferns but now flies to Port Moresby tomorrow, Sunday 01/10/2023 following an injury to one of the 12 player team.

This situation happens in a high-level team sport environment when team members are working hard in preparation for the event to which they have been selected and occasionally suffer injuries requiring a reserve to step up to fill the void.

What a thrill this will be for Annika as she gains the opportunity to represent New Zealand and show case her skills at the FIBA Oceania Level in the U17 Women’s Championship which tip off on Monday, 02/10/2023 and runs for 5 days.

Taree Basketball wishes Annika good games on her New Zealand selection debut and knows the experience of being involved at this level in the PNG Capital will be a life-long memory.

Games in the FIBA U17 Women’s Oceania Championship will be live streamed and will provide the opportunity for young players to watch the standard of play needed to reach this level.
