Taree Tornadoes is represented by 9 teams in the NSW Waratah Junior League. These teams range from under 12s to under 18s.

What a season so far! Our teams are winning, players moving onto higher representative levels and referees gaining accreditation and officiaiting in the higher graded events!

Under 12 Boys
Coach – Garry Stephen
As we go into the 3rd round of the league we have 4 wins and 2 losses.
A strong unit that will contend at the play offs. Toby Allan, Jake Andrews, Darcy Radburn and Rory Clarke have been stand outs.
The pressing defence has shown that it is really a team effort with Leo Allan, Tom Hogan, Kobie Northam, Logan Clarke and Josh Allan all giving 100% to make sure the pressure is on!
Prediction – To make the final 2.

Under 12 Girls
Coach – Cam Galle
Winner, winner, chicken dinner! These girls just can’t be beaten!
The girls have been winning by large margins and just keep improving every time they take the court! Considering this is the first ever rep season for the majority of the team, the future of Taree Tornadoes is looking strong!
Prediction – Should go all the way!

Under 14 Boys
Coach – Troy Knutson
These boys are having a good start to their rep season with 4 wins and 2 losses on the board which has them sitting third on the ladder. Both the boys losses could easily have gone their way if the team’s energy levels were higher for the duration of the whole game.
Prediction – Top 4

Under 14 Girls Championship Division
Coach – Elisha Radburn
These girls are playing in the top division with the aim to make it into the Championship Country League which is the best of the best across NSW.
The girls are certainly on their way with them heading to the finals of the NJL/EJL championship division finals undefeated!
Prediction – To make Australian Titles!

Under 14 Girls
Coach – Elisha Radburn
With such strong numbers in our 14 girls we have 2 teams. After 2 rounds our Div 1 team is also undefeated. This team has a great balance and are working really hard and deserve their status.
Prediction – 2018 NJL Div 1 Champions

Under 16 Boys
Coach – Nick Kladis
Heading into round 3 the boys are sitting third on the ladder. The athleticism of this team makes their games great to watch. The boys give every game 100% and leave everything on the court.
Prediction – Top 4!

Under 16 Girls
Coach – Steve Atkins
Our 16 girls are sitting second on the ladder with 5 wins and 2 losses on the board. Coach Steve is pretty sure the girls can come out on the right side of the ledger when they meet Byron and Bellingen next time, as long as the girls bring their A game.
Prediction – Should be there for the grand final!

Under 18 Boys
Coach – Yvette Wilkinson
Our 18 boys team is made up of quite a few boys playing their first ever season of representative basketball but to watch them play, you certainly wouldn’t know it!
These guys are playing hard, having fun and getting great results!
Prediction – Heading for the grand final!

Under 18 Girls
Coach – Tiarna Porter
Coach Porter is a former U16, U18, U20 NSW player and she has shown her class on how to get the best out of her players. The girls are improving each time they hit the court and even though the girls have just had one win so far their margins are edging towards turning this around.
Prediction – More wins on the way!!
